Battle cruiser H.M.S. New Zealand, was a gift to the Royal Navy from the people of New Zealand. Her first mission, was to sail from England to New Zealand. Albert, 17, was one of the lowest-ranking members of the crew so he was never allowed to leave the vessel when the men were given shore leave. These are postcards which the Men brought back to the ship for him. Click on any picture for a closer look, then use your 'back' button to return to the blog.

Australia Revisited
I don't supposed the ship turned round after leaving Canada and returned to Australia, but I have gone back to include these three pictures. I previously omitted them because the first two are in worse condition than most of the others, and the third one is... well, you can decide for yourself what you think of it.
