Battle cruiser H.M.S. New Zealand, was a gift to the Royal Navy from the people of New Zealand. Her first mission, was to sail from England to New Zealand.
Albert, 17, was one of the lowest-ranking members of the crew so he was never allowed to leave the vessel when the men were given shore leave. These are postcards which the Men brought back to the ship for him.
